Description

Unlike their sweet produce, the attractively curling vines and leaves of the pea plant have an unexpectedly rougher, more savoury tang. Use them to make a salad, as you would spinach and other leafy greens.

Peas are one of the earliest vegetables you can sow in the garden. But if you don’t have the patience to wait until they they fill out to start eating them, you’re in luck. You can enjoy a harvest of pea tendrils and tender pea shoots, long before your actual peas mature. All parts of the pea plant are edible.
